West Ham have been admirers of Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell since the summer transfer window.
Given how poorly they have been defensively all season, West Ham are eyeing a move for Cresswell in January as well.
The former Leeds United defender has been a regular for Toulouse, and it would take a fee in the region of £22million to prise him away from the French club.
Charlie Cresswell will be West Ham’s best defender…😍
How can Nuno convince him to join?
Charlie Cresswell’s fitness assessed ahead of potential transfer
Cresswell would need to undergo a medical before completing a transfer in January, and by the looks of it, that should be a formality.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert and sports scientist, told Hammers News exclusively that, unless something unexpected pops up, he should clear it without any issues.
He assessed the defender’s injury history since he started playing football professionally, and did not find any red flags with regard to his fitness.
Discussing his potential move, Dr Brar said: “For Cresswell, definitely wouldn’t expect him to fail a medical unless there’s something completely unexpected that pops up.
“He has been playing regularly this season and his past experience of English football will certainly help him adapt to life in the Premier League.
“He has not faced any significant injury issues as well in recent years, so that certainly bodes well for any club looking to sign him.”

Where are West Ham in their pursuit of Cresswell?
West Ham are in regular contact with Cresswell’s representatives as work is ongoing towards bringing him to the London Stadium.
However, the Hammers are not the only club that are keen on signing the 23-year-old this winter.
Thus far, no official bid has been lodged for the centre-back, despite serious interest in his services.
According to Claret and Hugh, Nuno is considering other options as well, and the English defender is not understood to be atop his priority list.
Even if Cresswell does not join West Ham, they need to bring in a quality centre-back through the door as soon as possible.
Having the worst defence in the Premier League does not bode well, especially when they are seven points adrift of safety.
