Boulaye Dia contacted by West Ham claims agent but insider suggests Arsenal want him too

The agent of Boulaye Dia has told Telefoot (quoted via Le 10 Sport) that West Ham have been in contact with Stade Reims regarding a potential move for the striker. Club insiders Claret and Hugh suggest that the Hammers could face competition from Arsenal, however, for the 24-year-old’s signature.

Le 10 Sport reported late last night that West Ham boss David Moyes wants to bring Boulaye Dia to the London Stadium.

The 24-year-old could be available for around £14 million according to EN24 News.

Claret and Hugh claim he could be picked up for just £10 million, however.

The Stade Reims striker’s agent Frederic Guerra suggested that West Ham have already made an approach to sign his client, as quoted by Le 10 Sport:

“We talked a lot last month with West Ham. However, we have not moved forward. He is a player that interests them. After that, the question this winter is whether by choosing West Ham or another club, we do not exclude many other clubs this summer.

The Hammers could have their work cut-out, however. Claret and Hugh claims that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to bring the Senegal international to the Emirates this month.

The 24-year-old is a real talent. He is described as an athletic, direct and pacy striker by Ligue 1’s official website.

The Senegal international has been on fire for Stade Reims this season with 10 goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances to his name (Transfermarkt).

Boulaye Dia would be an exceptional addition for West Ham. Especially for just £10 million. The apparent interest of Arsenal in the fleet-footed Senegalese ace is undoubtedly an unwanted complication for the east London outfit, however.

The Gunners definitely have more financial firepower than us. And the fact that they can offer the 24-year-old European football could be a big factor in his next destination as well.

Let’s just hope that David Sullivan and David Gold are serious about backing David Moyes.

Dia is the real deal. And the Hammers should be going all out to beat Arsenal to his signature this month.
