Arsenal are allegedly eyeing up a move to sign West Ham United target Danilo from Palmeiras in the January transfer window.
That’s according to highly respected South American football journalist Jorge Nicola who claims that the Brazilian midfielder is highly coveted by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.
Danilo is a hugely talented young player, so it’s little wonder why he is attracting attention from the Premier League.

Arsenal chasing the Palmeiras starlet will be a real concern for Moyes and the West Ham fans. The Gunners are in a really strong position at the moment and as a result, they are a far more attractive prospect than the Hammers.
It seems as though the East London outfit really have our work cut-out regarding the race for Danilo’s signature…
Arsenal targeting West Ham target Danilo
Jorge Nicola reckons that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of there Brazilian youngster. And that’s really bad news for West Ham.
Danilo is a defensive midfielder by trade but he can also operate as a box-to-box player or even as an attacking mifdfielder.
The Brazilian is a tenacious tackler, has plenty of energy and has impressive physical attributes.
His playing style is quintessentially South American in the sense that he is dogged and always takes to the field with a never-say-die attitude.
He has been described as the new N’Golo Kante by Goal.

Danilo also bagged seven goals and four assists in 47 games last season (Transfermarkt) – not bad numbers for a supposed defensive midfielder.
The 21-year-old Brazilian is a superb young midfielder. The big problem is his value. There is obviously no way that West Ham will be meeting his £85 million release clause (Lance).
The good news is that Palmeiras will surely be prepared to do business for less than that amount.
I would absolutely love to see the young South American rock up at the London Stadium in January. The Gunners fans would undoubtedly like to see him at the Emirates as well.
And whether West Ham are able to beat Arsenal to the signature of Danilo remains to be seen.
