There’s a big boost for West Ham as desperate Valencia are forced to drop the price of prime David Moyes target Yunus Musah to an absolute steal.

With the race to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice escalating in the last 24 hours, so attention turns to who might replace him at the London Stadium.

Rice is such a unique, generational, hybrid midfield talent that West Ham are eyeing two midfielders with different attributes to replace him in the Hammers midfield.

West Ham majority stakeholder David Sullivan essentially confirmed that when he spoke about the club needing to sign several players to replace the captain when he leaves for pastures new.

Inevitably West Ham are being heavily linked with a host of players including the likes of Joao Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Valencia ace Yunus Musah.

Ex Arsenal starlet has long been linked with Hammers move

Reports have abound for some time that David Moyes has a keen interest in 20-year-old all-action USA star Musah as one of Rice’s replacements.

Ex Arsenal starlet Musah has been crowned the United States’ player of the year.

And word in the press is West Ham are genuinely interested in taking advantage of Valencia’s financial struggles by signing the midfield monster.

The powerful, pacy, technically excellent Musah ticks every box when it comes to what West Ham need in midfield when Rice leaves.

Fans will remember him shining against Rice in midfield for the US at the World Cup despite his tender age.

Musah the midfield monster has vast experience for one so young

He has already played over 100 games for Valencia and 25 for his country.

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo recently, the midfielder is keen to move to the London Stadium this summer. And word was West Ham could get him for between £20-25m – a fifth of the price of Rice.

It was then reported Moyes had made midfield monster Musah a key target to fill the void left by his departing skipper.

Now there’s been a big boost for West Ham as desperate Valencia are forced to drop the price of prime Moyes target Musah to an absolute steal.

Valencia have financial problems and must raise funds before the end of the month to satisfy FFP.

According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano Los Che have now dropped Musah’s price to just £17m as they look to offload the midfield ace, who has been outspoken about racism from the club’s fans.

“Valencia are open to sell Yunus Musah this summer after they turned down all approaches last January, including a verbal bid from Chelsea,”

“Understand €20m (£17m) fee could be enough to sign USMNT midfielder.”

The only problem for West Ham is that seems to have alerted AC Milan, who are looking for replacements for Sandro Tonali ahead of his move to Newcastle.
