A Mirror journalist has doubled down on a hugely exciting West Ham transfer claim about monster target Yunus Musah.
As the race to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice hots up, so attention turns to who might replace him at the London Stadium.
Rice is a unique, generational, hybrid midfield talent. So the thinking at West Ham has always been that it would take two midfielders with different attributes to replace him in the Hammers midfield.
West Ham majority stakeholder David Sullivan essentially confirmed that when he spoke about the club needing to sign several players to replace the captain when he leaves for pastures new.
Inevitably West Ham are being heavily linked with a host of players including the likes of Palhinha, James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Valencia ace Yunus Musah.

Hammers linked with a host of potential Rice replacements
Reports have abound for some time that David Moyes has a keen interest in 20-year-old all-action USA star Musah as one of Rice’s replacements.
Ex Arsenal starlet Musah has been crowned the United States’ player of the year.
And word in the press is West Ham are genuinely interested in taking advantage of Valencia’s financial struggles by signing the midfield monster.
The powerful, pacy, technically excellent Musah ticks every box when it comes to what West Ham need in midfield when Rice leaves.

Fans will remember him shining against Rice in midfield for the US at the World Cup despite his tender age.
He has already played over 100 games for Valencia and 25 for his country.
According to a report from Estadio Deportivo earlier this week, the midfielder is keen to move to the London Stadium this summer. And better still West Ham can get him for just £20m – a fifth of the price of Rice.
Now a Mirror journalist has doubled down on that hugely exciting West Ham transfer claim about monster target Musah.

‘Moyes and Musah – the interest is mutual’ claims journalist
Mirror reporter Paul Brown has reiterated West Ham’s interest in Musah.
And he claims not only is the player well aware that the Hammers want him – but he has made it clear he wants the move too.
“West Ham are keen on £21million-rated Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah,” Brown wrote in yesterday’s printed version of The Mirror.
“The Hammers are scouring the market for potential replacements, with skipper Declan Rice expected to leave.
“And USA star Musah, who turned his back on England to play for his birth country, is one of the names in the frame as they look to sign two midfielders.
“The 20-year-old rising star is aware of West Ham’s interest and has made it clear he is interested in the move. Irons boss David Moyes has long admired the player and Valencia want a deal done by June 30.”
