West Ham United have been dealt somewhat of a blow this morning with news that Arsenal are a potential destination for Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima.

According to Eurosport, The Gunners have joined the Hammers in the race for the exciting 19-year-old’s signature.

West Ham boss David Moyes desperately needs to bring a new striker to the London Stadium this summer.

And whilst Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s need for a new centre-forward isn’t quite as pressing, it would be no surprise to see a talented attacker arrive at the Emirates before the start of next season.

And it appears as though Slavia Prague forward Abdallah Sima could be the man for the job for either the Hammers or the Gunners.

Eurosport claims that both clubs are actively trying to sign the teenager.

Whilst Sima would be an incredibly exciting addition for either of the London clubs, he is far from an out-and-out centre-forward.

The 19-year-old has operated mostly on the right wing for Slavia Prague this season.

He has enjoyed a fantastic campaign as well, with 19 goals and six assists in 34 games to his name this term (Transfermarkt).

Big blow for West Ham if Arsenal win Abdallah Sima race

Arsenal sniffing around Sima is very bad news for West Ham.

Despite the fact that we are sitting comfortably ahead of the Gunners in the Premier League table at the moment, it could be argued that the north London club still have more pull regarding potential new signings than we do.

The young Slavia Prague ace is exactly the kind of signing West Ham should be making.

Our relationship with the Czech club should stand us in great stead. Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal will surely be in Sima’s ear, urging him to come to the London Stadium.

Arsenal’s interest will undoubtedly be an unwelcome inconvenience for the Hammers, however.

And the Gunners’ greater financial muscle could put an end to the Hammers’ hopes of signing Abdallah Sima in the summer.

Let’s hope that doesn’t end up being the case though!
