Barcelona star Arturo Vidal gives West Ham a glimpse of what the future might hold with picture on social media

West Ham United fans may have been given a glimpse at what next season could look like by Barcelona star Arturo Vidal.

West Ham have been linked with a plethora of players so far this summer.

Manuel Pellegrini is believed to want another five signings after sorting his goalkeeping situation.

Two of his prime targets are reportedly his fellow Chileans Guillermo Maripan and Gary Medel.

Pellegrini wants a Medel

According to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Pellegrini is insisting that West Ham press ahead with a deal for ex-Cardiff City midfielder Medel.

West Ham’s interest in Medel dates back to the January transfer window. Back then, the Hammers needed strength in depth due to an injury crisis. Sky Sports News reported in late December that Medel was a target.

The prospective move has not gone down well with West Ham fans, read full story here.

Maripan on his way for £15m?

A reported move for his Chile teammate Maripan is being welcomed, though.

The Sun reports West Ham are closing in on a £15m move for the imposing centre back.

Glimpse into future for Hammers fans

“More united than ever for a single target! Defend our country to the end,” Vidal said alongside a picture of the Chile squad together.

West Ham fans can check out the pair playing in the Copa when they kick off against Japan on June 18th.

Chile then face Ecuador before what could be an intriguing match against Uruguay where Maripan could be up against Hammers striker target Maxi Gomez.

As a result of the Copa America it is unlikely West Ham would be able to conclude either deal fully until Chile’s involvement is over, which could be as late as July 7th if they go all the way.
