Andriy Yarmolenko could end up staying in London after his release from West Ham in the transfer window with Premier League new boys Fulham keen on signing him.

That’s according to a report from Viktor Vatsko who claim that Fulham are actually favourites to sign the ex-Hammer.

Yarmolenko left the London Stadium on a free transfer earlier this month after his contract expired with West Ham.

The former Borussia Dortmund man, signed for £18 million in 2018 (talkSPORT), lacked the kind of pace and physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.

And as a result he failed to establish himself with the Hammers. He clearly wasn’t the kind of attacker David Moyes likes.

Yarmo did finish his West Ham career with a few brilliant moments with goals against Aston Villa and Sevilla. Moving him on was 100% the right call though. And it now seems as though he could be set to stay in London…

Andriy Yarmolenko set for Premier League transfer to Fulham

Viktor Vatsko claim that Fulham are favourites to sign the 32-year-old Ukrainian.

If the Cottagers do sign Yarmo, then good luck to them.

He quite simply wasn’t good enough to be a regular starter for West Ham and the fact that he was earning £115k-a-week was actually farcical.

Thank God that ridiculous salary is now gone from the Hammers wage-bill.

Yarmolenko actually has a lot of talent and he would be more suited to playing abroad rather than the Premier League.

We do wish the Ukrainian all the best but think that a transfer to another Premier League club might not be the best thing for him and certainly not for Fulham.

Who knows, he might end up flourishing in a team that places less emphasis on defensive solidarity.

We just can’t see it though.
