Arsenal are reportedly keen to sign perennial West Ham United transfer target Hirving Lozano from Napoli in January.

According to Italian website La Repubblica, the 63-capped Mexico international has caught the attention of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta.

That’s unfortunate for West Ham, with David Moyes thought to be keen to bring the 27-year-old attacker to the London Stadium (Area Napoli).

And with Lozano out of contract with Napoli in the summer of 2024, he allegedly could be sold for just £25 million.

That seems like outstanding value to me, considering his undoubted talent.

The trouble for West Ham is that Arsenal seem to be in a far stronger position to sign him than we do…

Arsenal keen to sign Lozano in January

La Repubblica reckon that the Gunners are keen to bring the 27-year-old winger to the Emirates this winter.

That’s a massive shame because he’s exactly what we need at West Ham.

Lozano is a top-class player and possesses all of the attributes that the Hammers sometimes lack inside the final third.

Lozano has struggled with Napoli, bagging just 30 goals and 16 assists in 134 games (Transfermarkt).

The Mexican is more than capable of producing the goods consistently at the very highest level, however. He proved that during his time with PSV Eindhoven.

The 27-year-old winger racked up 40 goals and 23 assists in 79 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit (Transfermarkt).

Lozano can play anywhere along the front-line, possesses real pace and has exceptional technical ability.

Mexico manager Juan Carlos Osorio labelled Lozano as ‘unbelievable’, as quoted by Tribunu:

Since he moved to PSV Eindhoven, I think he has made the next step up. He’s an unbelievable prospect. His pace, his ability to take people on makes me believe that he is a player that will go very far, hopefully, he can show that in the next game. I just think that whoever takes a chance on him will do well. His pace and again his ability to take people on, he can play in any league and any place. I think he will be able to – and he has the tools to play – in the Premier League.

The Napoli star obviously has the talent, despite the fact that his move to Serie A just hasn’t worked out.

I would absolutely love the Mexican at West Ham.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though we’ll have no chance of making that happen, with Arsenal reportedly keen to sign him in January.
