The summer transfer window is just three months away and another big deal is being mooted involving West Ham and Arsenal.
After the £105m deal which took Declan Rice from West Ham to Arsenal, the two clubs could be doing business again this summer.
That’s if a new claim doing the rounds about a possible transfer between the Gunners and Hammers is accurate.
The problem is we don’t think it can be.
They say there’s no smoke without fire.
No smoke without fire but surely not?
But Arsenal are not the only ones stunned as West Ham are linked with a quite unbelievable summer transfer.
Back in January it was claimed that the Gunners’ ousted number one Aaron Ramsdale could join West Ham on loan.
It was also suggested he was interested in the move.
That seem utterly unbelievable then given West Ham already have the brilliant Alphonse Areola and superb Lukasz Fabianski. And so it proved as Ramsdale remained at Arsenal.

Journalist who broke Paqueta and Phillips makes Ramsdale claim
But now a new claim has emerged from journalist Ben Jacobs – who first called West Ham’s transfer deals for Lucas Paqueta and Kalvin Phillips.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jacobs said he believes West Ham could well move for Ramsdale given the ages of both Areola and Fabianski.
“I think that West Ham could be an option for Ramsdale,” Jacobs said.
“Even though Areola has had a very good season, he’s in his early 30s, Ramsdale is a bit younger, West Ham might be tempted, and there will definitely be some European interest as well, if Ramsdale does choose to move abroad, but his preference is to stay in the Premier League.
“That’s why I think that something might develop with West Ham, we’ll have to wait and see, of course.”
Would Ramsdale swap Arsenal’s bench for West Ham’s?
You never say never in football.
But this seems like complete fantasy.
Even if West Ham wanted Ramsdale to replace Fabianski, why would he swap Arsenal’s bench for West Ham’s?
Because the England back-up goalkeeper is getting nowhere near displacing Areola at the London Stadium.
Perhaps West Ham want to maintain having the strongest goalkeeper duo in the Premier League if and when Fabianski departs.
Signing Ramsdale would ensure that remains the case.
But we cannot see the Hammers owners spending decent money on a position where they’re already well covered.
Although West Ham did sign Phillips when many believed they were more than well stocked in central midfield and did not need him.
And the club does need to bring in more players who tick the homegrown status box.
It’s certainly interesting that the rumour is persisting. It just seems too far-fetched right now.
