Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is stepping up his interest in signing alleged West Ham target Emi Buendia according to a report from Goal.

The Sunday Mirror (May 1st, page 72) claims that Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the Norwich City ace to the London Stadium this summer.

With Gunners manager Arteta so keen to bring the Argentinian magician to the Emirates though (Goal), West Ham may well have their work cut-out.

Arsenal to beat West Ham to Buendia?

In all honesty, the Hammers have more pressing priorities than chasing a winger this summer.

That should leave the door ajar for the Gunners to swoop in for the 24-year-old Canaries ace.

Buendia was in sensational form for Norwich this season.

He racked up 15 goals and 17 assists in 41 Championship games for the Canaries this term (Transfermarkt).

Those are truly remarkable numbers to have recorded, whichever league you’re playing in.

Whilst West Ham should be targeting the signings of two strikers, a central midfielder, a left-back, a centre-back and a goalkeeper, you can never have too many good attacking players!

Buendia can play anywhere along the front-line and would be a sensational signing for West Ham.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke recently described the 24-year-old as an ‘unbelievable player’.

We just can’t see the Argentine rocking up at the London Stadium this summer.

And with Arsenal ramping up their interest in Buendia, a move to the Emirates seems to be a likely outcome for the diminutive Norwich ace before the start of next season.
