Andre Silva has joined RB Leipzig for just €23 million (£19 million) according to Buli News. And the West Ham fans will be ruing the fact that another transfer target has slipped the net.

The Hammers were heavily linked with a move to sign the 25-year-old since January (Sport 1 and the Daily Mail).
Silva would have been a truly exceptional addition for West Ham.
And the fact that he signed for Leipzig for just £19 million begs the question…what on earth were we doing not making a stronger push to sign him?

The 25-year-old was on fire in Germany last season. The Portugal international scored 28 goals in 32 Bundesliga games (Transfermarkt). He ended up ahead of Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga goalscoring charts and behind only one player – Robert Lewandowski.

The Portugal international will undoubtedly go on to rip it up with Jesse Marsch’s side.

With finances so tight at the London Stadium, £19 million for Silva would have been absolute steal.
Who knows, perhaps David Moyes has another exciting plan up his sleeve.
