The Hammers seem to have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of the 23-year-old centre-back.
Yesterday it was reported that the Serbia international was all set to join West Ham if a meeting between the two clubs went smoothly (Gianluca Di Marzio).
It appears as though that was the case according to Ex. There is a somewhat of a problem that needs to be ironed out, however.
Milenkovic to West Ham update
ExWHUemployee claims that talks between the two clubs have gone very well.
Agents appear to be the people causing the biggest hold ups to why this deal is taking so long, however.
Ex suggested that different people are involved who have spoke to different clubs about Milenkovic and talks are still ongoing.
This is such an important signing for West Ham to get over the line. It really is.
Calciomercato have claimed that the Hammers could sign Milenkovic for just £14 million this summer. That is an unbelievable bargain for a player with the Serb’s quality.
In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, the Serbian scored three goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 clearances and one block per match. The 23-year-old won an average of 3 aerial duals per game. He also had an 86% pass completion rate from an average of 46.6 passes per match (Who Scored).
Milenkovic is ideally suited to the Premier League what with his aerial dominance and aggressive, tenacious playing style.

Let’s hope that these pesky agents can be put in their place. They quite simply have too much power in today’s game. Hopefully they don’t end up costing us the chance of making what would be a sensational signing this summer.
