‘Agent Pedro Obiang’ could help West Ham in their exciting bid to sign a pair of Italian strikers as David Moyes hits resistance.
Obiang’s name will instantly raise a smile among West Ham fans.
Elegant midfielder Obiang left West Ham for Sassuolo in the summer of 2019 for around £7.2 million (BBC Sport).
The former Spain youth international moved to the Hammers in the summer of 2015 from Sampdoria and went on to make 116 appearances for the club (Soccerbase).

The 30-year-old was a popular figure in east London, and many West Ham fans were sad to see him leave.
Obiang is fondly remembered by West Ham fans. He has gone down in Hammers folklore as the man who supposedly removed Dimitri Payet from the West Ham WhatsApp group chat when the Frenchman downed tools to force a move back to Marseille (The Independent).
And his amazing long range goal against bitter rivals Tottenham will live long in the memory.

Obiang still keeps a close eye out for West Ham’s results and celebrates the club’s success on social media.
He has said he only has fond memories of his time at West Ham.
Football – much like life – is often very much about who you know as much as what you know.
The foundation so many transfers are built on are recommendations from former players or connections at a club.

At West Ham just look at Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal. The latter was recommended to Moyes by the former and helped get the deal done.
And just this week, new £30m West Ham signing Nayef Aguerd revealed he spoke to his Morocco teammate and Wolves hero Romain Saiss for his advice on a move to West Ham before agreeing to the move.
So ‘agent Obiang’ could help West Ham in their exciting bid to sign a pair of Italian strikers as Moyes hits resistance.

Armando Broja is said to be West Ham’s prime striker target.
But last night a journalist delivered a Hammer blow to Moyes’s hopes of landing the Chelsea forward.
Yesterday West Ham were said to have secretly signed giant Austrian forward Sasa Kalajdzic from Stuttgart.
But an ITK journalist has also shot down those rumours.
So as Moyes meets resistance in his efforts to finally bring a new striker to West Ham, he could do a lot worse than look to former Hammer Obiang for help.

West Ham have spoken to Sassuolo over both Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca, according to a new report from 90min.
“Among those (strikers) the club are interested in are Sassuolo duo Raspadori and Scamacca, who are both taking on a more important role in Italy’s national team under Roberto Mancini,” 90min reports.
“The 22-year-old Raspadori scored 10 Serie A goals last season while Scamacca bagged 16 – form that has brought the latter to the attention of Arsenal in recent times.

“Their goals helped fire Sassuolo to a comfortable mid-table finish, but the Italian side may be open to negotiating an exit for one of the two after completing a deal for Agustin Alvarez last Friday – a player dubbed by some in Uruguay as the next Darwin Nunez.”
If West Ham manage to sign either it would be sensational business.
And if Moyes is serious about landing one of the Italian pair he can surely rely on Obiang to put in a very good word for West Ham with Scamacca and Raspadori.
And as we have seen, the word of a teammate who knows the club well goes a very long way.
