West Ham United transfer target Mohamed Simakan is allegedly on the radar of Arsenal this summer.

According to a report from the Guardian, Arsenal could make a move to sign Mohamed Simakan in the summer transfer window – a player linked with West Ham – after the ACL injury suffered by Jurrien Timber on Saturday.

The East London outfit have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 23-year-old defender for quite some time now – going all the way back to 2021.

Hammers boss David Moyes is desperate to bolster his centre-back ranks at the London Stadium this summer. The Scot could do with a new right-back as well.

So with that in mind, signing someone who could fulfil both duties would certainly make sense. Unfortunately for us though, Simakan may well be off the menu…

Arsenal could sign ‘perfect’ £35m West Ham target Mohamed Simakan

The Guardian are claiming that with Jurrien Timber set to miss the majority of the season with an ACL injury, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta could try to bring Simakan to the Emirates this summer.

If Arsenal do make a move for the Frenchman, the Hammers will obviously have absolutely no chance of signing him.

Simakan joined RB Leipzig for around €15 million (£13 million) in 2021 (Goal). And now the Guardian are claiming that the Bundesliga side will demand around £35 million for his signature.

In 24 Bundesliga appearances last season, the Frenchman averaged 0.9 tackles and 2.1 clearances and 1.6 aerial duels per game. He made 41.3 passes per game on average and recorded a completion rate of 81% (Who Scored).

Football.London recently described him as the ‘perfect’ player, and they’re absolutely right. Simakan has everything needed to succeed in the Premier League.

He’s strong as an ox and incredibly fast. The Frenchman is a tenacious tackler and reads the game superbly well. His ability to play at centre-back and right-back makes his £35 million asking price seem like really good value.

Mohamed Simakan would be the ideal signing for West Ham this summer in my opinion but it seems as though Arsenal could be set to win the race for his signature.
