West Ham could turn to Eric Dier for help in their battle against relegation during what remains of the season.
It does not take a genius to know perhaps the major issue at West Ham United on the pitch this season has been their inability to keep a clean sheet.
That has only happened once all season, which is a damning statistic for all involved.
Clearly, the club need to take action. Dier, then, looks like an interesting target.

Now at Monaco, Dier has been offered to West Ham. Steeped in Premier League experience from his days at Tottenham, he does look like a logical addition.
Dier has previously worked with Nuno Espirito Santo during the West Ham manager’s ill-fated spell with Spurs in 2021.
Nuno, of course, did not enjoy a long tenure in north London but did have something of a supporter in the form of Dier.

It’s easy to forget now but Nuno did have a good start in charge of Spurs.
In fact, back in September 2021, he was actually named the Premier League’s Manager of the Month after securing three wins in as many games.
Speaking to Tottenham’s official website at the time, Dier praised the immediate impact that Nuno had on the Spurs squad.
“Nuno’s come in and had such a calming influence on the squad. I think he’s really brought a serenity to the group and around the training ground and matchdays. We really needed that.”

Eric Dier’s record under Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno only managed Spurs for 17 games but certainly relied upon Dier an awful lot during them.
In fact, he started all ten of the Premier League games that Nuno oversaw while in charge of Spurs.
Dier would almost certainly have played every single minute of those, were it not for an injury he sustained while playing against Crystal Palace in September 2021.
Nuno has been backed at West Ham and while that might not be the most logical of ideas given the doubts about his long-term future, signing what could be an ally in Dier would feel like a positive step.
