West Ham boss David Moyes could opt to start Fabian Balbuena for this evening’s clash with Chelsea at the London Stadium according to Claret and Hugh.
The Hammers play host to the Blues in the 5:30 kick-off with both sides in desperate need of a win in order to boost their hopes of securing Champions League football for next season.
David Moyes has a big selection headache ahead of today’s game against Chelsea.
Aaron Cresswell AND Arthur Masuaku are both likely to miss out. Craig Dawson will also miss the game through suspension.
David Moyes to bring Fabian Balbuena back into the fold?
Much will depend on what formation the Scot decides to go with.
If the West Ham boss plays five at the back, Ben Johnson will once again fill in at left wing-back.
And Claret and Hugh reckons that Fabian Balbuena could be in line for a recall.
The 29-year-old Paraguayan made a fine start to the season for the Hammers.
He lost his place to Dawson just after Christmas, however.
Balbuena hasn’t started a Premier League game for West Ham since December 27th.
Moyes could opt to play four at the back of course. Then it would probably be Said Benrahma coming into the side with Johnson playing at left-back.
The West Ham boss has to get his team selection and tactics bang on today. We quite simply HAVE to win this evening.
And whether Balbuena is the man for the job this evening is highly debatable. Perhaps Moyes would be better off starting Benrahma and properly taking the game to Chelsea.
Whatever happens, let’s not leave anything on the pitch. COYI!
