West Ham United head to the east Midlands to take on Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Premier League clash between West Ham and Forest is a vitally important one for both sides, and David Moyes will be desperate for all three points.
The Hammers have been in woeful form over the past six weeks or so – an abysmal run that culminated with the 6-0 hammering at the hands of Arsenal on Sunday, and as a result new contract talks between the owners and Moyes has now been shelved.
Moyes is under real pressure now to get results, and nothing less than a win at the City Ground will do for the Scot and his players.
However, beating Forest will be far from easy. They’re in desperate need of the points as well, and the City Ground is always a lively, raucous place to visit.
Now, the Hammers may well have our work cut-out even more so…
Premier League announcement ahead of Forest vs West Ham clash
Tim Robinson has been named as the VAR official for the game this weekend, as confirmed by the Premier League’s official website.
How on earth is this happening after his awful showing in charge of the West Ham vs Bournemouth clash?
The 39-year-old was clueless and completely off the pace. He refused to punish any of the Bournemouth players for persistent fouls whilst he seemed to blow up for every single challenge we made.
Robinson failed to allow the game to flow and he topped off his shocking performance by failing to award us a spot-kick in the second-half – a decision that was eventually overturned by VAR.
When Mohammed Kudus was brought down, it was the most obvious penalty you could ever wish to award – not for Robinson though.
If the man who didn’t give us that penalty is now on VAR duty for our game against Forest, what chance do we have?
My main problem with this is that when the big clubs have referees who make bad decisions against them, they campaign to have them not officiate any of their future games.
West Ham should be asking the Premier League serious questions as to why Tim Robinson is on VAR duty for our game this weekend, so soon after his appalling showing nearly cost us a point or even more against Bournemouth.
Hopefully we don’t have to rely on any VAR decisions to help get us over the line against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
