You won’t believe the unbelievable bargain fee West Ham will have to pay to sign Youssouf Fofana this summer

So West Ham United can sign Youssouf Fofana for absolute peanuts this summer it seems, but there’s a big problem.

Youssouf Fofana has been on the West Ham radar for quite some time now, and Tim Steidten was said to be extremely frustrated that the Hammers didn’t sign the Frenchman last summer.

The 25-year-old Monaco midfielder is an absolute powerhouse of a player, and his ability to play the box-to-box role is exactly what we’re currently lacking.

Fofana recently broke his silence on his future with Monaco, and suggested that he’s keen to leave them this summer:

“I have spoken about it with the hierarchy, it isn’t a secret,” he told a press conference.

“We had exchanges and they agreed to accompany me in this new stage.”

“We were in agreement that we would accompany each other in this process in which everyone should be a winner, be it me or the club.”

Julen Lopetegui should be all over a deal for the France international – he’d be the absolutely perfect summer signing for the Hammers.

And now a new update has emerged regarding our interest in signing Fofana in the summer transfer window…

Bargain fee West Ham must pay to sign Youssouf Fofana

The Monaco midfielder is one of the most highly-sought after players on the market this summer, and it’s little wonder as to why.

What is suprising though is how much Monaco could sell the midfielder for.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham have joined the race to sign the France international this summer.

The likes of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest have all registered their interest in Fofana.

So the competition for the Monaco star is very clearly fierce, and that’s obviously bad news for us.

However, the good news is that he’s available for an unbelievable bargain fee this summer – just £17 million by all accounts.

The central midfield powerhouse possesses energy, athleticism, dynamism and strength in abundance. He’s built for Premier League football.

The 25-year-old has an incredible physique, but he’s not all about pace and power. The Frenchman is very good with the ball at his feet. He has been described as an ‘unreal’ midfielder by Monaco’s official website.

Fofana bagged four goals and four assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco this season just gone. During those outings, he averaged 1.9 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, one clearance and 1.3 key passes per game. He made 54.9 passes per match and recorded a completion rate of 82.2% (Who Scored).

I would absolutely love to see Lopetegui bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

Youssouf Fofana would complete West Ham as a team, so let’s hope that we somehow manage to find a way to win the race for the powerhouse midfielder.
