The search for a new West Ham United manager will surely begin after their relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.

Nuno was appointed as Graham Potter’s replacement back in September but ultimately failed in his attempts to keep the club from dropping into the Championship.

Nuno set to leave West Ham

There has been no confirmation that Nuno will leave the club, having signed a three-year deal only a few months ago.

However, Hammers News understands that the former Wolves coach will depart.

Quite who replaces him at this stage is unclear. Scott Parker is the obvious candidate, both because he has previously been linked with the club and due to his stint here in east London during his playing career.

Relegation confirmed – where do West Ham go from here?

West Ham United Head Coach Nuno Espírito Santo shows dejection after West Ham United's relegation to the Sky Bet Championship is confirmed following the Premier League match between West Ham United and Leeds United at London Stadium on May 24, 2026 in London, England.

Parker has a brilliant record of getting teams promoted from the Championship but has generally struggled in the Premier League.

Hammers News sources have been told that Parker is a potential option as West Ham’s next manager, with the 45-year-old a free agent after leaving Burnley earlier this season.

Other managers, of course, will also surely be considered. Whoever takes over from Nuno will also likely need to oversee a huge rebuild, given some of the club’s top players are expected to be sold this summer.

The issues at West Ham clearly run far deeper than who is in the dugout.

However, the last time they were relegated, they quickly turned to Sam Allardyce to lead them back into the Premier League.

The right appointment can work wonders for a club even in chaotic circumstances and it is imperative that the next coach through the door brings this football club back into the promised land as quickly as possible.
