West Ham United villain Marko Arnautovic is currently in talks to sign for Everton in the January transfer window, report claims.

That’s according to Italian outlet TMW who claim that the ex-Hammer could be Everton bound this month.

The 33-year-old forward ended up joining Italian side Bologna from Shanghai SIPG instead.

The 87-capped Austria international left the London Stadium to join Shanghai SIPG, now known as Shanghai Port, in July 2019. The striker earned an incredible £200k-a-week in China (Daily Mirror).

The Austrian was sold for around £22 million (The Mirror). Looking back on it, losing Arnautovic was a huge blow for West Ham. However, the way in which he agitated for a move away from the London Stadium meant that he quickly became a hate figure in East London.

And now it seems as though he could be set for a return to the Premier League…

TMW claims that the Austrian could be set to join the Toffees in the January transfer window.

Most West Ham fans look at the former Stoke City man as a true villain, considering the way that he treated the club four years ago.

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Arnie back at West Ham though, if it was on a short-term deal. He could make amends to the fans and he’d help us massively between now and the end of the season.

Over the past few years, Arnautovic has been drawing praise from many high-profile pundits including the likes of Rio Ferdinand.

He has bagged eight goals in just 14 Serie A appearances so far this season, and has been in superb form for Bologna (Transfermarkt).

At 33, Arnie is still very much on the top of his game.

And with the Austrian allegedly in talks to sign for Everton, it might not be too long before we see him back in England.
