West Ham United’s London Stadium hasn’t been full since February 2020.

Last season was an incredibly strange and unique one. It was the first time in Premier League history where more away wins were recorded than home victories.

We’re all hoping that full stadiums return as soon as possible, however.

Last season was fun at times, but it just wasn’t the same.

There is no substitute for the feeling of being in an away end when your team scores a last minute winner or even an equaliser.

Can you imagine the scenes had the West Ham fans been allowed in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when Manuel Lanzini scored in the last minute to make it 3-3 last season!?

The sooner the fans are back packing out the stadiums the better. And that may well not be too far away…

West Ham fans to pack out London Stadium for opening home game?

The Premier League have issued a statement on the matter, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News:

“The Premier League has announced that it and its clubs are committed to the ambition of having full stadiums, including away supporters, from the start of the season, and will continue to work closely with Government and all relevant authorities, ensuring operational plans are in place ready to safely welcome supporters back to stadiums in August”.

And with the Covid-19 roadmap out of lockdown fast approaching the all important July 19th date…everything seems to be falling into place.

As long as the numbers stay under control, there is no reason why the London Stadium shouldn’t be full to the brim for our opening home game against Leicester on August 23rd.

How good will that be! It’s been far too long. The sound, smells and hustle and bustle of match-days look set to return soon.

Bring it on!!!
