West Ham United are imminently set to open talks to sign an absolutely elite striker this summer.
Julen Lopetegui is desperately trying to strengthen his centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium this summer, and the West Ham boss is apparently keen to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.
However, Duran is clearly not the only striker who the Hammers boss is chasing in the summer transfer window.
West Ham boss Lopetegui appears to be casting his net far and wide in his centre-forward search this summer.
Bringing in a big upgrade on Michail Antonio before the start of the 2023/24 season will be a crucial job for Lopetegui, if he’s to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium.
The 34-year-old has been a great player for us over the years, but he’s just not good enough to lead the line for us anymore.

Fear not though, a big statement striker signing could well be on the horizon.
The latest name to be linked with a summer move to West Ham really will get the pulses racing…
West Ham to open talks to sign Jonathan David imminently
Canada international Jonathan David could well be London Stadium bound this summer.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, West Ham are set to open talks to sign Jonathan David imminently, with a potential £30 million deal on the cards.
What an incredible signing the 24-year-old would be for the Hammers.
Canada boss John Hermann raved about the striker, when asked about David and his international teammate Alphonso Davies, as quoted by Canada Soccer Daily:
“They’re bloody good players. They’re next level.”
David possesses absolutely frightening speed, and has exceptional movement. He always stretches the opposition’s defence by making tireless runs into the channels as well.
The Canadian hitman bagged a really impressive 26 goals and nine assists in 47 games in all competitions for Lille last season.
He also has 27 goals in 52 international games for Canada to his name.
It goes without saying that the talented Lille centre-forward is on another level entirely to Michail Antonio, and I think he’d be perfectly suited to Premier League football.
Jonathan David would improve West Ham’s play inside the final third significantly, and for just £30 million, signing him should be an absolute no-brainer.
