The good news just keeps on coming at West Ham with the club now looking set to keep yet another top player as a new deal is offered to Konstantinos Mavropanos with three specific clauses.

West Ham’s position as Championship title favourites has been reinforced by announcements from captain Jarrod Bowen and vice-captain Tomas Soucek that they are staying.

Hammers News exclusively revealed that Bowen’s revised West Ham contract contains a release clause if Nuno Espirito Santo fails to achieve promotion back to the Premier League this season.

West Ham look to keep Mavropanos with new deal

We previously reported the Hammers are hoping to keep six key stars including Bowen, Soucek, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Taty Castellanos, Mads Hermansen and El Hadji Malick Diouf.

Well now West Ham look set to keep yet another key star as a new deal is offered to Mavropanos with three specific clauses.

Who impressed you the most at Roots Hall?

Towering Greek fan favourite defender Mavropanos, who scored in the 1-1 pre-season draw with Southend on Saturday, completely turned his West Ham career around with his attitude and performances in the second half of last season.

He has been heavily linked with moves to Italy and back to Germany with interest from Dortmund and others.

But Hammers News understands new majority owner Daniel Kretinsky has offered Mavropanos a revised deal with three elements.

The first is that Mavropanos’ contract is extended by two years.

The second is a release clause like Bowen’s whereby Mavropanos can leave for an agreed fee if West Ham aren’t promoted back to the big time.

Three clauses in West Ham’s new Dinos deal

A third clause will see Mavropanos – like Bowen – receive a big bonus should he help the Hammers to promotion.

Hammers News understands Soucek’s deal includes similar bonus clauses to Bowen and Mavropanos.

How CONFIDENT are you that Taty and Dinos will stay beyond the summer?

The signs that Mavropanos will agree to the new contract are also good.

The former Stuttgart and Arsenal centre-back has been posting and replying to West Ham updates on social media.

If the Hammers can add Mavropanos to Bowen, Soucek and other key players in committing to the club for next season then there is no excuse for Nuno not to lead the team to the Championship title.

None of West Ham’s second tier rivals will have players of that quality at their disposal.

And that’s before the Hammers add to Nuno’s squad with the Portuguese set to be handed a sizeable summer war chest with which to make signings.

West Ham are very cleverly and quietly going about their business without any fanfare.

Now supporters will hope the club starts to add signings to thicken and improve the quality of the team and squad because the Championship is a gruelling and fiercely competitive division.
