Jarrod Bowen is staying at West Ham – just as Hammers News exclusively revealed he would two days after relegation – and he has a revised deal with a new clause as the club makes a double announcement.

West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has officially confirmed he is staying despite relegation to the Championship.

But as Bowen states himself in the big reveal, he had already told supporters he would be staying in his first interview after the final whistle against Leeds when West Ham’s relegation was confirmed.

Just 48 hours after the club failed in their bid for Premier League survival, Hammers News exclusively revealed Bowen was going to be staying at West Ham.

Bowen stays at West Ham and revised deal has new clause

We have consistently reported information from top club sources since that Bowen was going nowhere this summer despite links elsewhere to half the clubs in the Premier League from Bournemouth to Man United and Aston Villa.

Now the man himself has confirmed that is the case in what is the best news West Ham have had in years.

The captain STAYS! How big of a coup is this for West Ham? 🥳

West Ham United's English striker #20 Jarrod Bowen celebrates after scoring the opening goal during the English Premier League football match between Chelsea and West Ham United at Stamford Bridge in London on January 31, 2026.

Hammers News also revealed Bowen would be doing a video to fans to officially confirm he is staying.

Now it has arrived as part of a major double reveal from West Ham.

And Hammers News can reveal Bowen has agreed to a revised contract following his meetings with Daniel Kretinsky days after relegation.

Convinced by the ambition of the new majority owner, Bowen says he was even more certain he was making the right decision to stay.

Earlier this week, his father-in-law Danny Dyer confirmed Bowen was staying with the Hammers to ‘smash up the Championship’.

The Athletic claim Bowen has agreed a revised deal to stay at the London Stadium.

And Hammers News understands that deal has a clause – or at least a gentleman’s agreement – that Bowen will be allowed to leave next summer if West Ham are not promoted back to the top flight.

That mutual agreement is totally understandable and more than reasonable given Bowen would literally have his pick of at least 10 Premier League clubs were he to leave.

West Ham make major double reveal

Although the skipper was already a West Ham legend, his commitment to the cause and desire to get the club back where it belongs cements that legacy beyond any doubt whatsoever.

The Bowen news was not the only major reveal from the Hammers on Friday.

The club has also announced that over 50,000 season tickets have been sold.

After passing the 45,000 mark, West Ham officially had the second most season ticket holders in England behind only Manchester United.

Now West Ham are just 3,000 off the second most in the UK when taking Celtic into account, who have 53,000.

And season ticket sales continue ahead of the new campaign.

That loyalty and support did not go unnoticed by Bowen, who says the West Ham fans deserve the same back, another factor which had a big influence in him staying.

“For me, it was only right to speak when the time’s right in circumstances like this, then it’s back to talking about football,” Bowen said on West Ham’s website.

“I flew out to Prague in the Czech Republic to meet Daniel and Jiří and the ambition that I got from them, certainly in terms of the direction the Club wants to move in, it interests me a lot. It didn’t take a lot for me, because this Club means a lot to me.

“I did an interview after the [Leeds United] game and said my vision is to get this Club back in the Premier League. Sometimes you think it falls on deaf ears and people say ‘he’s just saying that’. There have been things written and different things said and you have to look at it and bite your tongue sometimes.

“But when I say something, I don’t hide away from it. For me, the main thing is to get this Club back into the Premier League and speak to people in the Club about what we want to do moving forward as a Club for the better of the Club. It was a no-brainer for me to be here and the vision is clear, it’s the Premier League.”
