West Ham staff really surprised that the club’s owners have made big Nayef Aguerd decision

The West Ham United club staff are really surprised about a decision the club’s owners have made about Nayef Aguerd.

Nayef Aguerd joined West Ham from Rennes in the summer of 2022, and despite some big errors, he has established himself as a key man for David Moyes.

The Hammers fans have become concerned by Aguerd’s positional awareness, and it is something that our opponents target week in, week out.

The 27-year-old is very good on the ball and possesses exceptional recovery pace, but there must be a reason why the club is apparently open to selling him this winter.

However, Football Insider claims that behind the scenes, the Hammers staff are surprised that the board could apparently sanction the sale of the Moroccan centre-back this winter.

So he is clearly very highly rated at the London Stadium. An exit from the club this winter would surely be a big surprise wouldn’t it?

West Ham could sell Nayef Aguerd

The former Rennes ace could leave the club in January, with Jonathan Tah and Dan-Axel Agadou being lined up to replace him.

And the club’s staff are apparently surprised that David Sullivan could sanction the sale of Aguerd.

It actually wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Morocco international was sold in the summer, but it would shock me if he was allowed to leave midway through the season.

In my opinion, there are far better central defenders out there than Aguerd. He has had some horror shows for West Ham this season – namely during our clashes with Bournemouth, Chelsea, Liverpool and Fulham.

I kind of feel like the 27-year-old quite simply isn’t suited to the robust nature and intense pace of Premier League football.

So the West Ham staff might be surprised if Nayef Aguerd was sold, but I certainly won’t be…as long as he’s not moved on next month.
