Kaelan Casey has posted a message on social media following the conclusion of his loan spell at Leyton Orient.

The West Ham prospect spent the first half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Swansea before joining Orient in January.

Casey was expected to be an integral part of Richie Wellens’ side, but he struggled to make an impact at Brisbane Road.

The central defender has now reflected on his short time with the O’s after they narrowly avoided relegation.

Kaelan Casey posts message after Leyton Orient loan spell finishes

Casey was considered one of West Ham’s most talented youngsters when he headed to Swansea last summer.

However, the 21-year-old failed to break into Swansea’s starting XI and briefly returned to the Hammers in January.

Casey was then sent on loan to League One side Leyton Orient, where he was expected to become a key player.

Instead, the youngster was only a squad player for the O’s despite them falling down the table into a relegation battle.

He did not play a single minute in either of Orient’s last two games, as they needed a win to guarantee safety.

Wellens’ side did not win either game, but they stayed up by two points following Exeter’s missed opportunities.

Casey will undoubtedly be disappointed not to have played a bigger role, especially with his teammates struggling.

However, the Hammers prospect had only positive things to say about Orient after his loan spell concluded.

“Grateful for my time at Leyton Orient,” Casey posted on Instagram. “A special club with great people. Wishing everyone all the best for the future.”

Fellow West Ham academy stars Regan Clayton and Mason Terry commented emojis, as did ex-Hammer Patrick Kelly.

It will be interesting to see whether Casey heads out on another loan next season, with one year remaining on his contract.
