West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui is expected to be extremely busy in the transfer market, right up until summer window slams shut on August 30th.
The summer transfer window began with a bang for West Ham with the signing of highly talented youngster Luis Guilherme, and since then Julen Lopetegui has signed Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman as well.
One of Lopetegui’s chief remits at West Ham is thought to be providing an opportunity for the young players to showcase their abilities.
That said, the Hammers head coach is also expected to oversee some genuine progress at the London Stadium by getting us back inside the European spots.
In order to do that, Lopetegui needs to sign at least four or five more top-class players, after David Moyes left behind such an unbalanced, and ageing squad.
The West Ham chief needs to prioritise the addition of a high quality centre-forward, but once that has been done, he must sign a new right-back as far as I’m concerned.
Ben Johnson left the club earlier this summer to join Ipswich, leaving Vladimir Coufal as our only right-back.
The 31-year-old Czech Republic international regressed badly over the past six months, and an upgrade on him is required urgently.
Now though, Lopetegui has to act fast if he’s to bring in the perfect replacement for Vlad, with Tottenham reportedly having made a big £21 million transfer decision.

So Spurs’ stance on one transfer in particular could have big repercussions for the Hammers this summer it seems.
That’s because Tottenham are demanding £21 million from AC Milan for right-back Emerson Royal, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.

And as a result, the Italian giants reportedly could now switch their attention to Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka – someone who Lopetegui really wants to bring to the London Stadium this summer.
More importantly, the 26-year-old is said to be keen on a return to London before the start of the new season.
So if the Spaniard truly does want to sign the former Crystal Palace man, he had better act fast in order to get the jump on Milan.
He is arguably the very best man to man defender in the Premier League, and is an exceptional tackler.
Wan-Bissaka’s recovery pace would be vital to the way in which Lopetegui wants to set up, in the sense that the Spaniard likes his teams to press high up the pitch.
The 26-year-old’s rapid speed means that the Hammers would be able to press with more aggression inside our final third, safe in knowledge that the right-back will be able to sweep up, should the opposition beat our press.
Wan-Bissaka has been described as an ‘explosive’ player by the The Athletic. He’s not the best going forward, but he can definitely still work on that and improve.
I think Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be a stunning addition for West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui in the summer transfer window.
And with AC Milan now switching their attention to the Man United man after Tottenham’s extortionate demands for Emerson Royal, the Hammers had better act fast.
