Corriere dello Sport reported earlier today that Real Madrid ace Mariano Diaz is Moyes’s priority January target.

That no longer appears to be the case, however. That’s according to Hammers insiders Claret and Hugh.

C&H suggest that Bournemouth forward Josh King is the signing who West Ham are prioritising in January.

The 28-year-old Cherries ace would be a very smart addition for us. Moyes needs to add more competition and cover for Michail Antonio and Sebastien Haller at the London Stadium. And King is absolutely ideal.

The Hammers tried to sign the 28-year-old Cherries hitman in the Summer (Sky Sports).

At the time, it was reported that West Ham were being asked to pay £18 million for the 51-capped Norway international (Sky Sports).

King’s current deal with Bournemouth expires next summer, however. So that price will have dropped considerably.

Claret and Hugh claims that West Ham boss David Moyes has identified the 28-year-old as the striker he wants to sign in January.

It is suggested that the Hammers may only have to pay £13 million, or even less for King. Surely we would be able to sign the Bournemouth ace for £10 million at most, however.

The Cherries won’t want to lose him for nothing in the summer. Let’s just hope that we don’t end up overpaying for the 28-year-old.
