West Ham target Mario Lemina is an alleged transfer target for Newcastle United this summer according to The Daily Mail.

And missing out on another one of our transfer targets to a team below or in and around us in the table would be a bitter pill to swallow for the Hammers fans.
West Ham boss David Moyes is keen to bring Lemina to the London Stadium this summer (The Guardian).
Considering our deficiencies in central midfield, the 27-year-old Southampton ace would be an excellent addition for us.
The 19-capped Gabon international has great technical ability and has plenty of energy. Former Saints talent spotter Les Reed described the midfielder as ‘an outstanding talent’ back in 2017 (TEAMtalk).

In 28 Premier League games this season, Lemina averaged 2.2 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 0.8 dribbles and 1.7 successful long balls per game. He averaged 31.7 passes per match with a fine completion rate of 83.5% (Who Scored).
West Ham to miss out on Lemina to Newcastle?
The Daily Mail claims that Magpies boss Steve Bruce wants to bring the Saints midfielder to St James’ Park this summer.
The Guardian claims that Lemina could be available for just £7 million. That is truly outstanding value by anyone’s estimation.
Newcastle’s ability to be able to offer the Gabonese ace regular first-team action may well tip the scales in their favour.

And the Magpies’ interest in Lemina could be a big problem for West Ham.
We desperately need central midfield reinforcements. That’s not the only area Moyes needs to strengthen, however. And with such a limited budget at the Scot’s disposal, he will have to be thrifty in his player recruitment.
Bearing that in mind, the opportunity to sign a player with Lemina’s calibre for such a bargain fee is one that we really shouldn’t be missing out on.

Newcastle winning the race for Super Mario would be a big blow for West Ham. Let’s jut hope that the Hammers owners pull their fingers out and making it impossible for Southampton and Lemina to turn us down.
