West Ham United fans have spoken of their desire to keep striker Valentin Castellanos in the Championship.

While Castellanos sometimes frustrates for his lack of cutting edge, it’s hard to imagine a scenario in which West Ham United would have taken their bid for Premier League survival down to the last day without the Argentine.

West Ham will undoubtedly have to sell players this summer after dropping into the Championship.

That is sadly the grim reality of the situation, although West Ham remain ambitious to return to the Premier League as quickly as possible

While at least some big names will almost certainly leave, keeping players like Castellanos would be a fine way to ensure their stay in the second tier is only a fleeting one.

It looks like being a summer of chaos at West Ham but holding onto players of his stature would certainly be a statement of intent from the club.
