West Ham fans took to Twitter to praise Manuel Lanzini after his performance against Celtic this afternoon.
The 28-year-old occupied the deep-lying midfield role and he looked really comfortable.
Aside from an early mistake, the Argentinian ace seemed to be back to somewhere near his best.
Celtic took the lead inside the first 15 minutes before West Ham stormed back with authority and led 3-1 at half-time through goals from Michail Antonio (2) and a Mark Noble penalty.
Lanzini was a key factor behind David Moyes’s side’s comeback. He started the counter-attack which led to our third goal this afternoon. With the Argentine in top form, the Hammers ran out comfortable winners.
And he could be a very important player for us this season.
Hopefully we see the best of Lanzini this season. Word of warning though. If he is to play in that deeper role, he absolutely must cut out the mistakes like the one that led to the Hoops’ opener this afternoon.
You absolutely will not get away with errors like that in the Premier League.

Despite the early error from Manu, the Hammers fans were very impressed by his overall display this afternoon…
