West Ham fans shared their dismay on Twitter last night at the fact that Ivan Toney wasn’t signed in the summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes failed to sign a new striker in the summer.

And that is already looking like a questionable decision with Michail Antonio ruled out of today’s clash with Manchester United through suspension.

Moyes wanted to bring Toney to the London Stadium in the summer (Claret and Hugh and Eurosport).

He has made a decent start to the Premier League season with two goals in five games thus far (Transfermarkt).

His all-round display yesterday was quite simply brilliant, however. Toney looks like he is more than ready to succeed in the Premier League.

 

West Ham fans baffled by Ivan Toney decision

The 25-year-old displayed exceptional movement against Wolves yesterday afternoon.

He was a constant menace for the Wolves defenders and totally dominated Conor Coady in the air and on the ground all afternoon.

He really does seem like he has the total package.

Toney would have provided very strong competition and cover for Antonio, had Moyes brought him to East London in the summer.

Who knows? Perhaps we will go back in for him in January or next summer.
