West Ham eyeing move to bring giant 6ft 6in centre-back Dan-Axel Zagadou to Premier League

West Ham United allegedly want to sign giant defender Dan-Axel Zagadou in the January transfer window.

Dan Axel-Zagadou was a target for West Ham on a free transfer last year in fact, but he ended up joining Stuttgart in the end.

And now Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring the 6ft 6in giant to the London Stadium in the January transfer window, according to a report from The Sun.

Nayef Aguerd has really struggled this season, and he’s extremely error-prone. Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma continues to struggle with his fitness and Angelo Ogbonna will be 36 by the time this season ends.

Moyes could definitely do with another centre-back to bolster his defensive ranks – someone left-footed and with youth on their side.

And it seems as though the Scot has someone specific in mind…

West Ham targeting Dan-Axel Zagadou swoop

The Sun are claiming that the Stuttgart centre-back is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.

He would make an instant improvement to the way that we defend as a team in my opinion, and I would absolutely love to see him move to East London.

Standing at 6ft 6in tall, Zagadou is strong in the air but he is also quick along the ground.

In 15 Bundesliga appearances this season he has averaged one tackle, 1.3 interceptions, 3.9 clearances and 1.2 blocks per game. The ex-Dortmund ace is very good with the ball at his feet as well. He has averaged 68.5 passes per game and has registered an incredibly impressive 87% completion rate (Who Scored).

Dan-Axel Zagadou is perfectly suited to the robust nature of Premier League football, and he’d be a great signing for West Ham in my opinion.

Stuttgart will obviously not want to sell Dan-Axel Zagadou in the January window, but West Ham should be asking them questions with a cheeky bid for the Frenchman.

And if the Hammers do sign the Stuttgart defender, it would almost certainly spell the end for Ogbonna at the London Stadium, and maybe Aguerd’s time at the club could be finished as well.
