West Ham United are ready to sign a striker in January, with David Moyes eyeing up a shrewd £14 million deal.

David Moyes is desperate to add a top-class striker to his ranks at West Ham in the January transfer window.

The key for the Hammers boss will be to bring in someone who fits his system, and plays in a similar style to Michail Antonio.

One player who West Ham have been linked with over the past couple of years is Boulaye Dia, and Moyes is said to be a big fan of the 27-year-old.

The Salernitana hitman has been in impressive form over the past couple of years, and he would be perfectly suited to our playing style.

Now it seems like the Hammers are ready to make our move for the Senegalese ace…

West Ham have January striker signing in mind

According to a report from Il Mattino, the Hammers are ready to pay £14 million to bring Dia to the London Stadium from Salernitana this winter.

I think that if West Ham manage to sign the 27-year-old for just £14 million, it would be great business for us.

Dia fits our system to a tee, what with his hard work ethic, willingness to run the channels and his incredible physicality.

He’s a very good finisher as well, and has bagged 20 goals in 46 league games since the start of last season for Salernitana (Transfermarkt).

I believe that Dia playing in the middle of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, and just in front of Lucas Paqueta would make us a truly electric attacking outfit – one that no defender would relish coming up against.

It goes without saying that the Senegal international would be a major upgrade on the ageing Antonio at the London Stadium.

West Ham signing the Salernitana striker in the January transfer window would be a very positive move for the club as far as I’m concerned.
