West Ham confirm the departures of 9 players including two Nuno signings

West Ham United have officially – but not unsurprisingly – confirmed that Adama Traore will leave the London Stadium after only five months in the capital.

A January signing from London neighbours Fulham, Traore hardly made a lasting impression in a Hammers jersey.

Barring the odd glimpse of quality during West Ham United’s run to the FA Cup quarter-finals, the former Barcelona, Wolves and Aston Villa winger is destined to go down as one of the most forgettable signings in the club’s recent history.

DISCUSS: Keeping Adama Traore is a bad idea 😡

He's done nothing!

He made only nine substitute appearances in the Premier League, totalling around 120 minutes of action.

And with his short-term contract due to expire in July, the Hammers have officially confirmed that Adama Traore will not be kept on. He is one of nine first-team and youth-team players who will be released following their return to the Championship.

Adama Traore and Lukasz Fabianski leave West Ham United

In a statement published on the club’s official website, West Ham have revealed that Lukasz Fabianski will depart as well. The veteran Pole returned for a second spell last September but injury meant he would not add to a tally of 216 appearances.

“West Ham United has issued the Club’s Retained List of players at the end of the 2025/26 season,” the statement reads.

“First-team players Lukasz Fabianski and Adama Traore will be listed as free transfers when their respective contracts expire on 30 June.”

Axel Disasi will not be returning to West Ham either following an impressive loan spell from Chelsea. If Traore made next to no impact following his arrival, the same cannot be said of another winter acquisition in the five-time France international.

Simply put, Disasi deserved better than to sign off like this.

West Ham have also confirmed that youngsters Michael Forbes, Junior Robinson, Tyron Akpata, Daniel Rigge, David Chigwada, Tom Wooster and Jonathan Unwin are also due to leave.

Forbes suffered relegation from League One on loan at Northampton Town, where he reunited with the since-departed Kevin Nolan. Robinson had disappointing stints at Livingston and Boreham Wood, while Akpata leaves despite featuring in West Ham’s run to the National League Cup final.

Goalkeeper Tom Wooster could be spotted at Rush Green taking part in first-team training on occasions.

The departure of the one-time Manchester United prospect is probably down to the fact that, in Finlay Herrick, Mason Terry and the returning Krystian Hegyi, the Hammers are overloaded with exciting young shot-stoppers.
