It now remains to be seen if Adama Traore plays for West Ham United again.

Traore is currently injured and will not play for West Ham United against Newcastle on Sunday, having also missed last weekend’s defeat to Arsenal.

The January signing has made only 12 appearances since joining from Fulham, the last of which came away at Brentford earlier this month.

Despite the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo pushed for West Ham to sign Traore, the 30-year-old has only started two games during his time here in east London.

Now, there has to be some level of doubt that he ever pulls on the famous claret and blue shirt again.

Traore could leave West Ham this summer

Of course, there is no absolute guarantee that the former Barcelona youngster won’t make the final game of the season against Leeds.

Still, even beyond that point, there are doubts about what might happen going forward.

Between 1-10, how would you rate West Ham’s survival chances if they beat Newcastle? 😬

Back in late January, Hammers News brought you the news that Traore had signed a short-term contract with West Ham.

Hammers News sources also understand that the winger is unlikely to be kept on even if the club do stay in the Premier League this season.

It all means that there is a strong chance Traore could have played his final game for the club already.

Traore was certainly a logical addition at the time but while there have been a few promising performances in the FA Cup, it would be fair to say the move hasn’t really worked out.

Nuno opted not to start him at Premier League level even during Crysencio Summerville’s injury absence, which was an indication as to how prominently he features in the head coach’s thoughts.

Traore was certainly a logical addition at the time but while there have been a few promising performances in the FA Cup, it would be fair to say the move hasn’t really worked out.

It is hard to frame his signing as a successful one and the idea that he could leave so quickly after joining would only raise more questions.
