West Ham have confirmed plans for an FA Youth Cup parade ahead of Manchester United clash at the London Stadium next week.
West Ham showed the future is not just bright but claret and blue when they lifted the prestigious FA Youth Cup this week.
The Hammers’ Under 18s side – who recently won their league at a canter – smashed Arsenal 5-1 at the Emirates to lift the trophy.
A 7,000-strong Claret and Blue Army – what a fanbase by the way! – saw Kevin Keen’s young talents batter Jack Wilshere’s Gunners in a memorable final.
It was the first time West Ham have won the trophy since the famous West Ham academy side of 1999. That team contained the likes of Joe Cole and Michael Carrick.
Some fans expected to see cup paraded ahead of Liverpool clash
Now West Ham fans are hoping a few gems from the current crop make it as first team stars.
Hammers supporters are fiercely proud of the club’s academy roots.
So the sight of more homegrown talents emerging put an extra spring in the step as fans turned up for the first team’s big game against Liverpool last night.
Many supporters arrived hoping the club may have the Under 18s out on the London Stadium pitch to parade the FA Youth Cup before the match.
But the tight 24-hour turnaround would have made that very difficult to properly put into place.

Rest assured though, that will be happening next weekend when the Red Devils come to east London for the club’s next Premier League home game.

Responding to Hammers News, West Ham have confirmed plans to have the victorious Under 18s team and staff parade the FA Youth Cup around the pitch when the Hammers entertain Man United on Sunday May 7th.
“Yes there is a plan to have this at the next home game,” a West Ham executive told Hammers News.
So supporters are urged to take their seats early for that 7pm kick-off to give the youngsters the applause they deserve.
Man United’s away support will also likely give the West Ham youngsters a cheer given their club is also steeped in academy tradition.
