David Gold posted a tweet about Chelsea losing 5-2 to West Brom yesterday but it backfired badly as West Ham United fans hijacked the post, pleading with him to sell up.

Gold and his partner David Sullivan took over the Hammers way back in 2010.

Their relationship with the West Ham fans began to sour in 2016, however, after we moved from Upton Park to the London Stadium.

The Hammers fans are now pleading for new owners. Aside from all of the lies and broken promises, one of our bones of contention now is how thoroughly unprofessional both Gold and Sullivan are.

Gold was at it again last night after Chelsea lost 5-2 at home to West Brom at Stamford Bridge.

David Gold tweet about Chelsea hijacked by West Ham fans

The result shocked everyone. Thomas Tuchel lost his first game in charge of the Blues.

And Gold posted the below tweet:

The West Ham fans pleaded with Gold to sell up in response to his tweet:

It’s just embarrassing for an owner of a football club to act with such a lack of decorum on a social networking site.

It is unlikely that Gold and Sullivan will sell up before 2023.

If the Hammers are sold for more than £200 million within the next two years, Sullivan and Gold would be duty bound to pay a 12.5% share premium to the London Stadium public owners.

Because of that, the West Ham fans will probably have to suffer Sullivan and Gold for a while longer yet.

And Gold’s tweet about Chelsea last night was just further evidence that he shouldn’t own a Premier League football club.
