The West Ham board have broken their silence in the wake of posting club record £104m losses – and they have a message for Nuno Espirito Santo about the battle for Premier League survival.

The Hammers make the trip across London on Wednesday night to face in-form Fulham.

With Nottingham Forest facing a daunting trip to Man City, Nuno Espirito Santo knows a win could well lift West Ham out of the relegation zone for the first time since November.

The Irons have played well over the last two months to close the gap on Forest and the teams above them.

Now the West Ham board have broken their silence to send a clear message to Nuno and the team about relegation.

While there has been a transformation in performances on the pitch, dark clouds gathered over east London again last week when the Hammers announced record losses in their 2024/25 accounts.

As a result, Ian Wright believes West Ham’s owners have now given Forest the edge in the battle for survival.

A few weeks ago Nuno targeted six games West Ham must win to survive – with Fulham being one of them.

Whatever way the Irons do it, they know they realistically need to win at least four or five of the last 10 games to stay in the Premier League.

It is natural the manager will look to certain games as more winnable than others. Especially after West Ham played well yet still lost 5-2 at Liverpool last time out.

The Fulham game takes on added importance given the Hammers face Man City and Aston Villa after that in the league.

But the West Ham board, who are under increased pressure from fans in the wake of the club’s financial turmoil, have made it clear the only focus now is on winning games and surviving.

And they have a message for Nuno and the players – every game is a must-win.

Nuno is right – but how worried are YOU about the future? 🤔

Player sales look likely even if we stay up 😔

Hammers News asked the top spokesman for West Ham’s board about the mindset inside the club heading to Fulham to kick off the final 10 games.

West Ham’s owners believe it could take as many as 42 points to stay up.

The spokesman for the owners was asked whether there is genuine belief Nuno and the players can pull off a new great escape.

“Fulham is a huge game for us,” the top spokesman for West Ham’s board exclusively told Hammers News.

“They are all must win games now.”

With 30 points to play for, West Ham need to take at least half to make it to the magic 40-point mark.

Fulham are in form but beatable and while Man City is clearly a worrying fixture, it could be something of a free hit if the Hammers beat the Cottagers.

Aston Villa are up and down, making that fixture less daunting than it might have been a couple of months back.

After that West Ham have a run of four games where they must try to take at least three wins against Wolves, Palace, Brentford and Everton.

Leeds on the final day at the London Stadium will be the other “must-win” with results in other fixtures being seen as a bonus.

Victory for the Hammers at Fulham would put them a point above Forest if they lose at City, a point behind Spurs – who face Palace on Thursday – and three points behind Leeds after they lost at home to Sunderland on Tuesday night.
