Vladimir Coufal responds directly on X to a West Ham fan who criticised him with hilarious reply

Vladimir Coufal went toe-to-toe with one West Ham United fan on X on Wednesday night.

There were strong rumours that West Ham could sell Vladimir Coufal in January, but he remained at the London Stadium in the end.

Vladimir Coufal joined West Ham from Slavia Prague in October 2020, and he has gone on to play 173 games for us.

The 32-year-old has been a great pro for the Hammers throughout the years, but it’s fair to say that he’s not the player he was when he joined us.

He gets beaten around the outside far too often these days for my liking.

And it has been suggested that he could leave on a free at the end of the season.

However, Hammers insider Sean Whetstone has suggested that the former Slavia Prage right-back could be handed a brand new deal.

Whether or not that’s the smart thing to do from a footballing and a business perspective is debatable.

However, one thing that cannot be argued is that Coufal gives his absolute all for this football club every single time he takes to the pitch.

Vladimir Coufal responds on X to criticism from West Ham fan

The Hammers right-back was obviously perusing over his X feed on Wednesday night.

It was suggested by one West Ham fan on X (in a now deleted post) that Coufal was ‘not very good’, so to speak.

The Czech Republic international clearly saw the message, and responded brilliantly on his official X account:

The fan then apologised to his so-called ‘mate’ Coufal, but the Hammers defender wasn’t letting him get away with it that easily.

The West Ham man said:

Woow….I came from the S**T into a MATE….I really would love to be your friend.

In fairness, that’s a great response from Vlad.

Vladimir Coufal has been a fine professional for the Hammers over the past four years or so.

His work-rate and commitment cannot be faulted.

However, it’s fine to have the opinion that Coufal isn’t good enough to be playing Premier League football anymore.

The 32-year-old has lost his place in the side to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but when Potter switches to a back three, there seems to be a place for him in the team.

We’ve all done it before haven’t we.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment, we criticise players on social media platforms from behind a computer screen.

It is what it is, it’s a culture that will never change.

However, the fact that Vladimir Coufal actually replied to this one West Ham fan was incredibly rare to see.
