One West Ham United player is still being heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium.

West Ham weren’t particularly busy in the January transfer window, having brought in only one new signing – Evan Ferguson.

The Hammers brought James Ward-Prowse back from his failed loan spell with Nottingham Forest as well.

However, aside from Maxwel Cornet, West Ham didn’t get rid of any of the deadwood.

That will clearly be a job for Graham Potter and his trusted recruitment guru Kyle MaCaulay in the summer.

There are still far too many players at the club who simply haven’t contributed anywhere near enough.

That said, one player still being linked with the exit door is definitely a useful squad player.

Will West Ham sell Vladimir Coufal

Vladimir Coufal has fallen down the right-back pecking order at the London Stadium since Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s arrival in the summer.

However, he has been given more opportunities recently since Graham Potter’s arrival, with the 49-year-old’s penchant for playing three central defenders.

It was claimed throughout the summer and in the lead up to the January transfer window that the Czech Republic international could be sold.

And despite the fact that our transfer window is now closed, the rumours surrounding Coufal’s future are refusing to go away.

It has been claimed out in Turkey that Galatasaray want to sign Vladimir Coufal from West Ham before their window closes on February 11th.

But could the 32-year-old really be moved on?

Sean Whetstone – one of David Sullivan’s most trusted confidants – has claimed that Coufal will not be going anywhere.

Coufal has made 173 appearances for the Hammers over the past four-and-a-half years (Soccerbase).

He has been a really solid pro for the Hammers.

However, it could be argued that he’s finished at the very highest level of the game.

His lack of pace means that he’s beaten far too easily by opposing wingers these days.

The former Slavia Prague man always gives his all though, and he bleeds claret and blue.

I think that West Ham should keep Vladimir Coufal until the end of the season, and then let him leave the club in the summer.
