Generally speaking Moyes is very well respected by his peers, players, fans and the press.
But unfortunately in football rivalries between clubs can be tribal.
And we have witnessed that once again after footage emerged of the Hammers boss out in public during some downtime yesterday.
Because video shows friendly West Ham boss Moyes being verbally abused by a rival fan out in public after giving the thumbs up.

Harmless banter or a step too far?
Footage posted on social media shows Moyes walking along the street on a phone call.
A fan travelling past in a car who is filming the Hammers boss then shouts “Moyesie” to get the Scot’s attention.
But when Moyes smiles and gives the thumbs up, he is sworn at and called a “West Ham c-word” twice.
There’s football banter and rivalry but this oversteps the mark.
West Ham have fierce rivalries with the likes of Millwall, Spurs and Chelsea to name but a few.

Water off a duck’s back for the man from the east end of Glasgow
It’s not clear who the fan shouting the abuse supports but it has been shared online by a Millwall supporter.
Some fans have laughed it off as a funny prank. Others feel it is beyond the pale.
It’s one thing taking that kind of stick at a game from rival supporters. But in public it is uncalled for.
One thing is for sure it will be water off a duck’s back for the West Ham boss.
Moyes is thick-skinned and has been there, done that and got the t-shirt.
The Hammers manager is from the east end of Glasgow and is no shrinking violet.
West Ham fans have rallied behind their manager on social media by replying to the post.
