Cresswell was released by boyhood club Liverpool as a young player.

He went on to play for Tranmere and Ipswich before becoming a firm favourite as West Ham’s much-loved adopted scouse cockney.

Everton fans are clearly well aware of Cresswell’s Liverpool roots.

And they were giving Cresswell a good ribbing during West Ham’s match with the Toffees.

So Cresswell took great pleasure in giving some back to the visiting Everton fans when he curled in a wonderful free-kick on the half hour.

Cresswell raced over to the Everton fans – the club many of his family and friends support – and cupped his ears in celebration right in front of them at the London Stadium.

And it resulted in an absolutely hilarious moment which will bring to the faces of Liverpool and West Ham fans alike.
