Maxwel Cornet showcased his blistering pace down at the West Ham training ground this week, but not in the way you might expect.
The mood at West Ham has been lifted after two vital wins in a week to boost the club’s Premier League survival chances.
It’s a case of three games down and six to go for West Ham during a hectic April.
And focus now turns back to Europe for the Hammers with the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final against Gent to come on Thursday night.
David Moyes is expected to utilise his full squad in the coming weeks. And one player in particular who could finally get the chance to make a big impact is Cornet.
West Ham fans were excited by what the Ivorian might bring to the side when he was signed for £17.5m from Burnley in the summer.
But he has been restricted to a solitary league start due to a rare calf injury which kept him out for five months.
With his pace, energy and ability, Hammers fans are hopeful he could make a big difference during the run in.
Well Cornet certainly seems to be free from any issues now and his speed was on display in the Rush Green car park this week.

Rice, Areola and others are stood chatting with a massive cane corso dog called Shadow in the car park.
Cornet is clearly not a big fan of dogs judging by the fact he stood about 20 metres away from the group wearing an anxious look.
So when Areola told the dog to chase terrified Cornet he put his blistering pace to good use as he sprinted off to get inside the West Ham training ground.
Rice and co can be seen roaring with laughter as the captain gets his phone out to start filming.

Given the slippery conditions, West Ham fans watching the video will be forgiven for holding their breath!
When the dog catches up to Cornet he then goes straight back to Areola and co as Cornet hides inside the building.
It’s hilarious footage that is a must watch for Hammers fans and can be seen in Areola’s TikTok post below.
“Shadow go and catch him! Love you Maxouuu,” Areola said in the video caption.
And it was a good warm up for Cornet ahead of Gent, where he is expected to start this Thursday evening.
Last week former West Ham star Andy Carroll backed Cornet to make a big difference for the side after what he saw on a visit to his old club.
