Umbro are about to completely redeem themselves as a mock-up shows the superb new white and claret West Ham away shirt.

West Ham finally unveiled their new 2023/24 home kit on Monday morning after weeks of speculation.

West Ham’s new home strip has caused quite a stir among supporters. Not just because it features a bubbles pattern many supporters don’t like, but also due to the whopping £75 price point.

Fans have remarked that the new West Ham kit would have been better without the bubble design. Many feel that would have been best left as a feature for the child kits.

When the Hammers played Boreham Wood in their first game of pre-season on Monday night things got worse as supporters saw the awful striped claret and blue hoop socks in the flesh too.

Umbro’s efforts during their time as West Ham’s kit maker have been seriously hit and miss.

Many supporters have long called and hoped for a switch to a new manufacturer.

Last season’s ‘You’ve been Tango’d’ white and orange away kit was universally disliked. Although it may now go down as something of a cult classic given West Ham won their first major trophy for 43 years wearing it.

While Umbro have produced some stinkers, there have been a few stonkers too.

And it seems West Ham fans will be getting a mix with this year’s offering.

Because Umbro are about to completely redeem themselves as a mock-up image shows the superb new white and claret West Ham away shirt.

A computer generated mock-up of the new away strip, which is said to be very close to the real thing, has been published on social media.

And it it a classy effort that is going down very well with fans.

The new West Ham away kit for 2023/24 is very reminiscent of the white and claret 1998 away shirt by Pony, which supporters still love to this day.

As reported on Hammers News a few months ago, the away kit for the 2023/24 season is white.

And there will be an ‘ocean blue’ third strip too.

Now if we can just get Umbro to release a version of this season’s kit without the bubbles which look more like quote marks.
