Say what you want about West Ham as a team but nobody can ever question the club’s fans after a staggering 45,000 season ticket holders renewed despite relegation – the second most in the country.

Fans sing ‘West Ham are massive, everywhere we go’ and they’ve just proved it.

Last month, Hammers News exclusively revealed Amanda Staveley’s PCP group were ‘blown away’ by West Ham fans as the club revealed over 35,000 season ticket holders had renewed over a week before the deadline.

Hammers News also revealed West Ham expected the final number to be between 42-45,000.

Well now West Ham have officially announced 45,000 season ticket holders have renewed for the club’s new era under new majority owner Daniel Kretinsky at their 62,500 capacity London Stadium home.

That’s despite the east Londoners being relegated to the Championship.

It's certainly bold…

It means West Ham once again have the second most season ticket holders in England behind only Manchester United – and third most in the UK behind Celtic and the Red Devils.

The Hammers are ahead of Arsenal, who have 44,000 and West Ham’s figure is set to rise even further still as season tickets will now go on sale to those on the club’s waiting list.

West Ham fans have always been fiercely loyal. And they are at their best in times of adversity.

So the response should not take anyone by surprise.

Especially as there is a wave of positivity and enthusiasm in the fanbase following the departures of Karren Brady and David Sullivan and the encouraging steps taken so far by Kretinsky and interim CEO Karim Virani.

The astonishing figure means West Ham will have 10,000 more season ticket holders than the next biggest capacity of any of the other teams in the Championship.

Only Man United can have more season ticket holders than West Ham

It also means West Ham have more season ticket holders than the capacity of all but six stadiums in the Premier League.

“With the 2026/27 Season Ticket renewal window now closed, the Club is thrilled to announce that more than 45,000 Hammers have secured their place at London Stadium for the campaign ahead,” West Ham announced on Friday night.

“We would like to thank every supporter who has renewed across General Admission and Club London, your incredible show of loyalty and commitment will play a huge part in driving Nuno and his team on as they push to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

“Now, with 45,000 already committed, your chance to join the Claret and Blue Army for what promises to be a memorable season at London Stadium is just around the corner…

“Thank you once again to every supporter who has committed for the season ahead. Together, we go again and start our next chapter, and we can’t wait to see you at London Stadium throughout 2026/27.”

West Ham have announced that supporters already on the Waiting List will be informed of their priority window to purchase by Wednesday 8 July.

West Ham truly are massive, everywhere we go – through thick or thin.

Few clubs would have that kind of backing if they dropped down to the Championship.

And there can be no accusations that the numbers are bloated by “tourists” or that tickets were cheap with a Band D (fourth level) season ticket costing nearly £700.
