West Ham United are in a really sorry state right now, and the club’s fans are approaching the Tottenham Hotspur clash with trepidation, rather than excitement.
West Ham are currently sitting seven points adrift of safety in the Premier League table.
And with games against Tottenham, Sunderland and Chelsea to come, things are looking very bleak for Nuno Espirito Santo right now.
West Ham’s appointment of Paco Jemez has provided some respite, with the Spaniard being really highly thought-of on the continent.
What is the best SOLUTION for West Ham over Lucas Paqueta? 👀
However, Nuno still has so much work to do.
Sadly, the club seems to be a mess from top to bottom right now.
Journalist’s claim ahead of Tottenham will fill West Ham fans with dread
Nothing less than a win will do away at Tottenham on Saturday.
Nuno, the Hammers players and indeed the fans will be well aware of that fact.
However, in spite of Spurs’ horrendous form, not one West Ham fan is truly confident that their side can win this weekend.
Perhaps that’s because of the state that the club has been run into over the past two-and-a-half years.
Independent journalist Miguel Delaney has just outlined a seriously worrying problem that West Ham have right now.
He said: “Ultimately, West Ham are a club who have needed to be sold for years. They just need a change of direction and new energy.

“You can see it in the structure within the club. Talk to anyone in football, and they will say West Ham comes across as one of the most dysfunctional in the game.
“They’ve been drifting for years but got away with it due to the advantages that come from being in London, and ultimately being able to pay enough.
“But that is eventually going to run out.“
The club obviously has problems at boardroom level.
However, the players just aren’t good enough – that’s the real issue at hand right now.
West Ham squad simply not good enough
The other major worry is that numerous players have been signed who clearly don’t care about West Ham as a club.
Perhaps it should be no surprise, then, that the effort of some of the West Ham players, or lack thereof, has been called into question this season.
N’Golo Kante has been linked with West Ham…😍
How can Nuno get the best out of him?
Nuno cannot keep putting his faith into players like Lucas Paqueta and Max Kilman when they have proven to be liabilities every single time they’ve stepped out onto the pitch.
West Ham need players who are going to fight for every ball and give their all for the shirt right now.
How the Hammers could do with players like Craig Dawson, Mark Noble and Pablo Fornals back in the team.
West Ham have become a dysfunctional laughing stock in the game over the past few years. That will likely culminate in relegation from the Premier League.
However, while that isn’t a mathematical certainty, Nuno should be fighting tooth and nail to bring in some real characters before the January transfer window slams shut.
