Tony Cottee shared his belief that Manuel Lanzini is West Ham United’s best footballer, when speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday yesterday (Saturday December 26th, 13:44).

The 27-year-old was a real hit at Upton Park after joining the Hammers on loan in the summer of 2015.
Manuel Lanzini was then signed permanently by West Ham the following year for around £9 million (Daily Mail).
The Argentinian ace went from strength to strength in a Hammers shirt. Thing began to go downhill for the 27-year-old from the summer of 2018 onwards, however.
Lanzini suffered a devastating ACL injury during the build up to the 2018 World Cup – one that kept him out of action for around nine months.
The former River Plate ace never regained the outstanding form that the West Ham fans had become accustomed to.

Manuel Lanzini has shown glimpses of what he is capable of recently, however. There have been signs that he is finally on his way back.
What a boost it would be for David Moyes if The South American started to produce the quality that we all know he is capable of.
Tony Cottee suggested that Lanzini is actually West Ham’s best footballer, when speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday yesterday (Saturday December 26th, 13:44):
“They need Lanzini back in the team. For me, Lanzini is their best footballer. He’s got to get back in that side.”
Let’s hope that Lanzini does discover his best form. On his day, he is a truly brilliant footballer, like Tony Cottee said.
The Hammers have been great this season. At times we have lacked a certain kind of creativity and guile in the middle of the park, however.
Lanzini could solve that problem in an instant. Hopefully his best days aren’t behind him. The 27-year-old could still have a very big part to play for West Ham.
