Soucek been linked with moves away to the likes of Everton and teams in Italy since West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.

As he did so, Soucek rolled his ankle right under his full body weight and dropped to the floor in agony.
Players from both teams immediately rushed to the stricken Hammers star as the referee stopped play and on seeing Soucek, the official instantly called for a stretcher.

After being tended to by medics on the pitch, Soucek was helped by teammates before being carried off on a stretcher.
Soucek’s West Ham teammate, Mexico midfielder Alvarez, and former Hammer Vladimir Coufal comforted Soucek as he left the pitch.
The exact nature of the blow is unknown at the time of writing but it was described by commentators and reporters at the stadium as a “horror” injury.
If Soucek is sidelined for months rather than weeks, which will be the fear, then he will almost certainly remain at West Ham by default if nothing else this summer.
That is a silver lining for the Hammers to an awful situation for one of the club’s Prague heroes.
